NBSTSA Call for Volunteers
The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) relies on the expertise of volunteers to carry out its mission. We are accepting applications for volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and the Examination Review Committees for CST and CSFA.
We value diverse perspectives and experiences and encourage applications from practitioners employed in all work settings. Service will begin July 2025.
Who can volunteer
- Currently certified CSTs (Certified Surgical Technologist) and CSFAs (Certified Surgical First Assistant).
- Practitioners with a minimum of five years of work experience and some volunteer experience.
- Individuals who are not currently serving on the Board of Directors of a national organization, or its committees.

Interested certified CSTs and CSFAs can submit an application at the following link before April 15, 2025. If you have any questions, please send them to nbvolunteers@nbstsa.org.
Applications will be reviewed, and notifications will be sent by July 2025.
